New ‘Give Way’ rule: test yourself online
Mon, 12th Mar 2012
FYI, this story is more than a year old

New Zealand’s ‘Give Way’ rules change over on March 25, in a move that could cause chaos on the roads over the next few months.

To help ease the transition, driver training website eDrive has added a special module which allows drivers to practice driving under the new rule, from the safety of their computer.

The main change is that traffic turning right will have to give way to vehicles coming from the opposite direction and turning left. At T-intersections, all traffic coming from the terminating road will have to give way to traffic on the continuing road, including vehicles turning into the terminating road.

The changes only apply where street signs don’t indicate which vehicle needs to give way.
