Facebook has released a new photo and video feature on its platform, Slideshow, which allows users to turn multiple photos and video clips into a slideshow ith music and a customised title.
“We all know that people love to share what they've been up to on the weekends and this new feature will let you stitch together those special photos into a format that captures the spirit of the event,” the social networking giant says in a company statement.
According to the company, the Slideshow feature originated in the Moments app and has been testing on the main Facebook app in several countries since December 2015.
The feature will become available worldwide on iOS this week. Facebook says it plans to add new themes and music to the feature over the coming months.
How to use Slideshow: There are two ways that you can create a Slideshow:
- If you've taken more than five photos or videos in the past 24 hours, Facebook will give you a preview of a pre-made slideshow at the top of your News Feed in the “What's on your mind” box when you open the Facebook app. You can customize and edit your Slideshow by removing new images and videos, selecting one of 10 themes with unique visuals and music, adding a title, and tagging your friends.
- If you see someone else's Slideshow in your News Feed, Facebook may give you the option to “Try It,” which will let you select 5+ images/videos of your own to create a Slideshow.
The themes available to chose from: Inspired, Nostalgic, Playful, Night Out, Birthday, Epic, Thankful, Tropical, Bollywood, and Amped.
