THINK YOU’VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES to compete at a national level in Super Street Fighter IV, Tekken 6, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Street Fighter III: Third Strike or Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix? NZism has announced that the New Zealand Fighting Game Nationals 2010 will take place at Giga Internet Café in Auckland on August 21st and 22nd.
Following the success of last year’s Street Fighter IV nationals, NZism has broadened the scope this year to give seasoned pros and new players alike a chance to experience the thrill of tournament play. NZism is expecting entrants from all over the country and even from Australia at this year’s event.
It costs $20 for entrants to participate in the tournament for their game of choice (provided they register before July 30th), and entry into extra tournaments costs $5 per game. Registrations after July 30th will cost $30, and all entry fees are to be paid on the day of the tournament.
Cash prizes are up for grabs, with a 60/30/10 split amongst the top three entrants for each game. The overall pot will be distributed between the fi ve games proportionately based on the number of entrants per tournament. There will also be spot prizes from the tournament’s sponsors, which will be announced as they come onboard.
