Well-known Mac developer Will Shipley writes on his blog about how the Mac App Store needs paid upgrades, and it's something that's been talked about before with the iOS App Store. Right now, the Mac App Store doesn't provide any easy, nice way for developers to charge a discounted price for an upgraded version of their software to existing customers — it's either an entirely new, separate app (which means the developer gets paid for all their hard work), or a free upgrade to anyone who has ever bought the app. Keynote is a great tool for making presentations, but it has found a new following in terms of laying out user interfaces and any kind of website layouts or similar. But why use Keynote when there are dedicated wire-framing and UI tools available? Keynote is fast and easy to use, has some fantastic layout options including grid lines, and it even comes with built-in animations.
