News: Mac Pro update, Hazel 3, Windows 8 in a virtual machine, and more!

There's no doubt the cycle of Apple product updates is somewhat predictable now, and the latest rumours see the Mac Pro getting a bit of attention due to the fact Intel are going to debut new server-class chips. The new Intel chips, called the Sandy Bridge E series (or Xeon E5 series) are supposedly the ones that will make it into the Mac Pro, if sites like MacRumors are to be believed. We'll likely see the new chips from Intel next week, with an Apple update following not too long after. MacStories takes a look at the recently updated Hazel. Hazel was recently updated to version 3, bringing a few new features such as nested rules, UI improvements, and a few new actions. For those unfamiliar with what Hazel is, it's kind of like an automation tool similar to Automator except designed around organisation. It's worth a look if you're interested in automating common actions with files or folders.

The Windows 8 Consumer Preview has been released to the public, and if you're interested in trying it out, then OS X Daily has the guide in order to do so completely free. You'll be using the freely-available preview as well as the virtualisation app VirtualBox, which will more than do the job.

It's no secret that a lot of people admire Apple as company, and for the fifth year in a row, Apple has been named Fortune's most admired company in the world.
