No Jedi is complete without a trusty droid: Sphero unveils Star Wars robots
These are the droids you’re looking for.
Sphero has unveiled their new line of Star Wars robots in celebration of Force Friday.
They have revealed the new R2-D2 app-enabled droid alongside a newcomer the franchise, the dark and sinister BB-9E app-enabled droid.
The R2-D2 droid is based on the hero of the Rebel Alliance from a galaxy far, far away.
The specialised tech in R2-D2 is unlike any other Droid, making it as authentic as the trusty R2 fans have come to know and love.
Users can control the droid with their smart device or they can watch it patrol on its own.
R2’s signature front and rear LED lights are fully functional, and an integrated speaker means the beeps and boops come right from R2-D2 itself.
R2-D2 is a skilled starship mechanic and fighter pilot's assistant with many features to interact with and explore.
Users can explore the Star Wars galaxy alongside R2 and roam through iconic ship interiors through augmented reality.
R2 will interact with other Star Wars app-enabled droids by Sphero, and view films from the Star Wars saga by your side.
While users drive and interact with R2 it will go from bipod to tripod stances or trigger emotive waddles.
Sphero’s new BB-9E droid is a new First Order character from Star Wars The Last Jedi.
BB-9E houses sophisticated tech, allowing it to roll and move his dome just like on-screen.
This vigilant and intimidating Droid is always on high alert.
Users can keep BB-9E sharp with the Droid Trainer and explore holographic simulations from the Star Wars galaxy.
Like R2, BB-9E can interact with other Star Wars app-enabled droids by Sphero.
BB-9E will also view films from the Star Wars saga by your side, though users shouldn’t be surprised if he gets excited at the sight of the Empire.
BB-9E’s dome is also equipped with vibrant LED lights.
Both droids are now on sale across A/NZ.
