Nokia's renaming its Ovi internet services brand to achieve more brand recognition.

All Ovi-branded services will be renamed Nokia services, starting in July. There is no planned service disruption.

Nokia EVP and chief marketing officer Jerri DeVard said the change stems from a decision to unify the brand identity rather than spread it between the two.

In a statement on its website, Nokia stresses this is solely a name-changing exercise: "The only difference consumers can expect to see is the replacement of the word Ovi with Nokia, not only on their device software but also in other places such as printed material or online media and advertisements."

Nokia also recently announced the introduction of operator billing through 2degrees and Vodafone for its Ovi/Nokia services.
