FYI, this story is more than a year old

Nokia will expand its mobile phone partnership with Microsoft into the tablet market, head of Nokia France Paul Amsellem has told a French newspaper.

As reported in Les Echos, Amsellem says the company will have a tablet running Windows 8 by June next year – even though Microsoft itself has not set a date for the operating system's official release.

Although the company has declined to comment further on Amsellem's statement, such a move would make sense, with Nokia already partnering with Microsoft on its phone OS, Windows Phone.

Indeed, many analysts feel the success of Windows 8 rests on how well it integrates on tablets, given that Microsoft's competitors, Google and Apple, both have operating systems that run on both tablets and smartphones.
