NZ Post launches (decent) iPhone app
Fri, 13th Aug 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

“Send a Card for iPhone” is a free download that allows you create and send, high-quality printed greeting cards from an iPhone or other supported devices.

All you do is select an image from your library or take one using your phone’s camera and write your message. All you need to do then is add the delivery address and New Zealand Post will print your card and post it for you.

While the app is free to download, creating and sending a card will set you back $4.99.

From a quick play around the app seems to work great. We'd like to see the ability to be able to pinch and zoom in on a photo to crop it though.

The application was built by New Zealand-based iPhone development specialists Cactuslab for New Zealand Post as a native iPhone application for iPhone SDK 3.0 and later.

It integrates with the iPhone's address book to make sending cards even quicker, and if you enter a new address you can save it to your address book for next time.

Check out the app’s website for more info.
