New Zealand Post plans to extend its YouShop internet service, allowing Kiwis to easily purchase goods from around the world.

Unveiled earlier this month, YouShop allows Kiwis to buy products from stores across the globe which won't deliver to New Zealand or alternatively charges too high a rate.

The online delivery service, provided through a partnership with Singapore Post, will now be expanded to support purchases from "several other countries."

Despite the venture initially being brought forward from 2013 due to heightened interest, YouShop is accused of dealing a major blow to retail stores, who are bemoaning a major disadvantage in trading given most buys under $400 are GST and duty-free.
