InternetNZ's event NetHui to break from tradition
Fri, 29th Jul 2016
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Dates and locations for this year's InternetNZ event NetHui have just been released. The event is now in its sixth year, and for the first time ever, it will break from tradition.

Organisers have announced that there will be three one-day events in local communities. The events will be held in Nelson on the 13th of October, in South Auckland on the 15th of October and in Rotorua on the 17th of October.

If you've never heard about it before, NetHui is a community-based event about the Internet and the people that use it. It's run by the community, for the community.

Jordan Carter, InternetNZ's chief executive, says it's important that NetHui involves all of the Internet community, including those that live outside of the major centres.

"We want to broaden NetHui's horizons and connect with more people who use the Internet across New Zealand. This is why we're taking NetHui on the road this year."

If you're tight on cash for the month of October, ticket prices are set low so that NetHui remains open and accessible to all those who wish to attend.

Organisers put emphasis on the fact that these events are for anyone that uses the Internet, and anyone who is interested in improving the Internet.

Attendees come from a range of sectors from business owners, education providers, regional start-ups to people from the general public that are simply just interested in tech.
