OLIVE RILEY, RIP
Mon, 1st Sep 2008
FYI, this story is more than a year old

THE Australian woman believed to be the world’s oldest blogger has died.

108-year-old Olive Riley had written some 74 entries to her blog, The Life of Riley. The entries ranged from accounts of her day-to-day life in Woy Woy, NSW, to stories from her childhood in the early 1900s.

She dictated her postings to her friend, film maker Mike Rubbo. The blog page www. allaboutolive.com.au  was out of action at time of writing due to a technical glitch but another friend set up a temporary posting at worldsoldestblogger.blogspot.com

Olive’s last posting, on June 26th, included a poem about her written by a friend in Newcastle. “I’ve never  been treated so well in all my life,” Olive said. “The nurses can’t do enough for me.”
