Orcon has opened up shop in Hamilton and Tauranga following successful launches of its service in Auckland in 2008 and Wellington in 2009.

The two exchanges are located in Hamilton Central and Tauranga Central.

Head of Sales and Marketing Taryn Hamilton explained, “We have had a lot of enquiries from New Zealanders about when various exchanges will be unbundled. Naturally we’re delighted to be bringing our award-winning service to Tauranga and Hamilton.”

Orcon says its unbundled ADSL2+ service can deliver speeds of up to 24 megabits per second (Mbps) downstream and up to 1 Mbps upstream, “roughly tripling the downstream bandwidth capacity of standard ADSL.”
