Microsoft announced today that Paul Muckleston is to step in to the role of managing director.

As of Thursday, August 2, Muckleston will replace Kevin Ackhurst, who is moving to Singapore to take up the position of vice-president sales and marketing for Asia Pacific.

Vice president Microsoft Asia Pacific, Emilio Umeoka, said the company was excited to have a seasoned leader, such as Muckleston, take New Zealand into its next phase of growth.

“He has driven cultural change and has been instrumental in Microsoft New Zealand’s attainment as one of the top performing Microsoft subsidiaries in the last financial year,” said Umeoka.

Since joining Microsoft in 1996 as an account manager in the Enterprise Partner Group, Muckleston has gone on to play a leadership role in various segments, including the communications sector. In 2005, he relocated to Paris as director of strategy and business management for Central and Eastern Europe.
