It hasn’t even been released yet but two new characters are already set to join the cast of Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale.
A post on the PS Blog by Seth Killian, lead game designer from Sony’s Santa Monica studio, says the first DLC content for the much-awaited title is already in development.
The first character joining the ranks of the mighty is Gravity Rush’s Kat, complete with ”some mind-bending new ways to move”.
Second is Emmett Graves, planet-jumping gunslinger from Starhawk. He brings with him the Build-in-Battle system that made Starhawk awesome.
Adding new characters to a beat ‘em up game is a fairly sizeable content boost, especially considering Sony has already confirmed any DLC characters will have their own backstories and rivalries; so how much will they be charging for these new characters? Not a cent.
“We’re happy to announce these first two DLC characters will be free to everyone for the first two weeks once they are available for download early next year,” writes Killian.
“That may sound a little tricky, so let me be clear: once Kat and Emmett are finished, we’ll put them up for download. They’ll be totally free for two weeks.
The only limit is that you have a two-week window to claim the characters. Once you have Kat and Emmett, they are yours forever.”
If you haven’t seen trailers for PS All-Stars yet, take a look here. It’s going to be very cool, and the way Sony is approaching it is great – you can’t deny that free stuff is good times.
