Project Natal to be renamed at E3
Fri, 28th May 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

The Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 for short, is the place where Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo (as well as gaming’s publishers and developers) turn up and fire their biggest guns in the console wars. Want to know what you’ll be asking Santa for this Christmas? Then watch what comes of LA from June 15th to June 17th.

One set of rumours doing the rounds this week revolves around Microsoft’s motion technology currently known as Project Natal. According to chatter on the internet, Natal will be renamed ‘Wave’ at the games expo next month.

There’s also talk of the mo-cam costing around US$149, which would be around NZ$218 taking the current conversion rate into account. PS3’s Natal rival (Move) is expected to launch later this year with a game for less than US$100. In terms of a release date, all indicators are pointing to October.

Microsoft won't comment on any of the above, so it’s all a big guessing game until the big Xbox conference that takes place just before the E3 show starts. We’ll let you know the facts.
