FYI, this story is more than a year old

ASUS’s Eee Top takes the all-in form factor of Apple’s iMac and marries it to a cheaper and lower-powered Intel Atom processor, as well as offering touchscreen capabilities.

Pros: The touchscreen works really well, thanks to ASUS’s easy interface that lies on top of Windows XP home. The Top itself is also quite small, which can be handy on a very crowded desk.

Cons: The Atom processor within is the weak link, as it makes the Top noticeably slow. There’s also no optical drive, making software installation (or DVD watching) a non-starter without springing extra for an external solution.

Verdict: A nice concept, but a bit overpriced for what’s on offer.
