Pros: ASUS’s VW161D’s biggest attraction is that it’s cheap. If you just wanted a small and thin monitor that takes up a true minimum of desk space, this would be the model to go for.
Cons: Not surprisingly, it’s pretty much a compromise model on every front, from the fact that it’s only a 16-inch screen, to the lack of anything but D-Sub. As such, screen geometry couldn’t be called sharp, and colours tended to look a touch washed out, even after calibration.
Verdict: An inexpensive option that’s worth what you pay for it – but nothing more.
