Rockstar has unveiled the debut trailer for its next project: L.A. Noire. It's a detective thriller set in Los Angeles during the 1940s.

According to a press release from Rockstar, "L.A. Noire is the first game to really explore what it means to be a detective, and offers players the opportunity to solve crimes blending classic action, investigation and interrogation, in the endless pursuit of what's right."

L.A. Noire is scheduled for release next year during the US spring (from approximately late March for us Kiwis) for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
