FYI, this story is more than a year old

With the third instalment in the Max Payne series due in March next year, publishers Rockstar Games have announced the original Max Payne will be released for mobile devices in coming months.

The release from Rockstar reads, "The original Max Payne broke new ground in interactive entertainment with its stylish presentation and immersive story, making Max one of the action genre’s first multi-dimensional characters – and attracting loyal fans and multiple awards along the way.

"Today we’re pleased to announce that this gritty action classic will receive the full HD treatment for mobile devices later this fall. The game will include connectivity and support from the Rockstar Games Social Club and boast the same features as its PC counterpart, including HD graphics and high-resolution textures, and will also take full advantage of the latest mobile technologies with deep customisable controls.”

More details will be available in coming weeks, Rockstar says.
