Samsung dates Skype Galaxy S fix

Last week Skype went live for Android smartphones running version 2.1 or above. It had been tested successfully on HTC Desire, HTC Legend, Google Nexus One, Motorola Milestone XT720, and Motorola Milestone.

The firm said it was also aware of “some problems with the Samsung Galaxy S” and is looking to address them.

ConnectMe contacted Samsung about a fix and received the following statement:

“The Froyo update will fix any Skype issues. Froyo will be available later this year (Nov/Dec time frame) for Samsung Galaxy S users to update via the Samsung desktop handset management application Kies.”

Samsung recently announced that it had sold over five million units of its Samsung Galaxy S smartphone and plans to launch the device in Japan later this month.

Update: Samsung has detailed what the Android 2.2 upgrade will feature.
