Samsung NZ unveils Galaxy Note II

Samsung New Zealand unveiled the latest addition to the Galaxy family in Auckland last night, in the form of the Galaxy Note II.

Designed to provide users with a portable canvas in a sleek smartphone, Samsung says the Note II powers content creation while also enhancing organisation, sharing and multitasking capabilities.

Slimmer than its predecessor, the Galaxy Note II has enhanced features designed specifically to help improve productivity and the overall user experience, including a 5.5” (140.9mm) HD Super AMOLED screen.

Stefan Lecchi, Head of Telecommunications at Samsung New Zealand, believes the product is ideal for those who want an intuitive and highly functional device that can keep up with the most demanding lifestyle and work needs.

“Some of the best ideas are those we have while on the go," he says.

"Whether they be related to work or play – the Galaxy Note II providers users with a handy tool that not only captures those instant ideas but also provides a smart, organised platform to share and express what is uniquely representative of them with friends, family and colleagues.

"I love the multi-screen functionality which lets me clear emails whilst referring to my meeting minutes in S note."

Key features include:

Multi WindowSimply drag & drop the application you want from the list to open a new window, allowing users to change the window position or maximise their chosen application.

Enhanced S Pen FunctionalityThe new and improved S Pen, which is ergonomically made for the perfect grip, provides users with a more precise, comfortable, natural writing and drawing experience.

The Easy Clip function also enables users to instantly outline and crop any content on the screen in any shape to save, share or paste – even with their personal handwriting which is also made available for emails.

Capture Your Ideas FreelyFreestyle expression is made possible with the Idea Visualiser which enables users to add illustrations by handwriting keywords on the S Note.

Sharing of content on the screen can be achieved through the phones screen capture function. The highly personalised creativity tool comes with 16GB internal memory with an expandable micro SD memory slot.

Air ViewThe all-new Air View feature on the optimised S Pen lets users hover the S Pen over an email, S Planner, image gallery or video to preview the content without having to open it or jump from screen to screen.

The Popup Note, an extension of the Popup Play feature, enables users to open an S Note instantly as a pop-up window anywhere on the large screen. Users are now even able to take notes with the S Pen while on a phone call.

Access Favourite Apps in a FlashThe Note II’s Quick Command feature enables users to quickly activate the frequently used applications with the S Pen.

Sending an email, making a call, searching a location is made easy – simply push S Pen button and swipe upwards on the screen to activate the Quick Command feature.

Get the Perfect ShotThe smartphone comes equipped with an 8-megapixel camera and a 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera with HD video recording.

The Galaxy Note II comes in two colours: Marble White or Titanium Grey and is priced at RRP$1199.
