Samsung to launch notebook/tablet cross
Fri, 2nd Sep 2011
FYI, this story is more than a year old

The New Zealand tablet market is set to look remarkably different by the end of the year, with Samsung NZ adding to yesterday’s Sony NZ news by announcing it will bring the newly launched Series 7 Tablet to our shores.

Unveiled overnight at the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin, the Samsung Series 7 Tablet runs on Windows, is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor, and has front- and rear-facing cameras.

A docking station, Bluetooth keyboard and stylus will all come as standard accessories.

Samsung NZ IT sales manager, Richard Burton, says the device will give users the power of a notebook with the convenience of a tablet.

That convenience will come at a price premium, however, with Samsung NZ currently estimating the RRP at $2399.

More details will be available closer to the launch of the device in October.
