Serko and Expedia team up to provide more for business travellers
Wed, 17th Dec 2014
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Serko, the online corporate travel booking and expense management provider, and Expedia have partnered up to provide more for business travellers. Serko Online users can now book select Expedia-sourced hotels through Serko's online service.

Darrin Grafton, Serko, CEO, says, “As many as 40% of business traveller's book hotels through leisure sites, like Expedia, rather than their Online Booking Tool (OBT) because they believe it helps their company save money. But booking outside of programme means corporations lose visibility of where their travellers are staying, travel spend is harder to reconcile, and duty of care obligations are not met.

“Enabling Expedia hotels to be booked through Serko Online, confronts this problem head-on and is another step towards Serko transforming business travel for the better,” says Grafton.

The deal between Serko and Expedia Affiliate Network adds over 120,000 properties to Serko Online's hotel inventory. It also enables Serko Online customers to consolidate their hotel bookings with the rest of their itinerary in Serko Online.

Raphael Lanfant, Expedia Affiliate Network, director Australia and New Zealand, says, “We are excited about this new relationship with Serko and the expansion of hotel options for agents and their customers in the Australasia region. We share a commitment to create a smarter hotel shopping tool for agents that provides multiple options for their travellers.
