FYI, this story is more than a year old

Skinny Mobile has jumped on the broadband bandwagon with the announcement that it will offer a low cost internet connection.

The service will be available in selected 4G areas across New Zealand, the budget telco says. The connection will operate on Spark's 4G network.

Skinny says the offering will be New Zealand's cheapest prepay broadband package, with 60GB of data for $55 a month. Skinny Broadband will also be offered without the need for a landline.

“At Skinny we listen to our customers and we are a nimble business, which means we can always keep one-step ahead of the competition and make the most of new technology.” says Ross Parker, general manager of Skinny Mobile.

“We know Kiwis are looking for lower cost, hassle free broadband options so we're excited to launch Skinny Broadband, which offers our customers New Zealand's best broadband prices, without the lengthy wait,” he says.

“You simply plug in your modem and you're ready to go – you can set up in under 5 minutes.

“We've been rated number one in Prepay Value and in Customer Satisfaction and we're translating that winning formula into our broadband service,” Parker adds.

“We're committed to being the best value player in the broadband market and offering the same super low prices and great service that Skinny is known for.

An online address checker is available on the Skinny website so potential customers can check whether Skinny 4G Broadband will be available at their home.
