Blizzard Entertainment Inc. has announced that StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty has sold more than 3 million copies worldwide in its first month of release. This cements its position not only as the best-selling PC game of 2010 but also as the fastest-selling real-time strategy (RTS) game of all time.
StarCraft II released simultaneously in North America, Europe, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau on July 27th. It sold 1 one million copies on its first day of release.
