FYI, this story is more than a year old

Stuff Fibre just announced their entrance into the movies-on-demand market with the launch of a new product, Stuff Pix.

The new service is in its final stages of testing and will be available to New Zealand consumers in early 2018.

The new offering is the result of a partnership between Stuff Fibre and content and technology experts MuviNow Australia.

Accessible to every Kiwi with broadband internet, Stuff Pix will allow users to rent blockbuster Hollywood movies soon after cinema release and months before they appear on any subscription services.

Stuff Pix states that it has deals in place to supply movies from an impressive line-up of major Hollywood studios including Disney, Lionsgate, NBCUniversal, Village Roadshow and Warner Brothers, as well as local producers and distributors such as Entertainment One, Madman Entertainment, South Pacific Pictures and Vendetta Films.

Stuff Pix is led by General Manager Paddy Buckley, who explains that the service will offer Kiwis an easy option to view the latest blockbuster movies without having to sign up for unwanted ongoing monthly costs.

Buckley saying, “With no joining fee and no ongoing subscription fees, Stuff Pix users will pay a one-off price for the rental of each movie, and the cost we are going to be offering will be the lowest in the market.

“New Zealand consumers will be getting some of the biggest blockbuster movies soon after they have shown at cinemas and months ahead of current subscription services.

Compared with other digital movie rental products, Stuff Pix will not be limited to one operating system and will be available across a wide range of devices.

Stuff Fibre's Managing Director, Sam Morse, explains that Stuff Pix is the perfect new addition to Stuff Fibre.

Morse stating, “It makes sense for Stuff Fibre to enter this market, with the Stuff audience reaching more than two million viewers every month.

“We know better than anyone that people crave content, and that there is room for a local movies-on-demand service that provides the best movies at the best price.”

“The launch of Stuff Pix represents another step in Stuff Fibre's strategy to provide exciting services that help Kiwis get more from their broadband.

While the service is available to all Kiwis with broadband, Stuff Fibre customers will enjoy added benefits, including a new release movie each month.
