Telecom launches Android tablet

Telecom is now offering a branded "V9 Tablet” for $399.

The device costs $399 and for that you get a SIM pack and 500MB credit.

Telecom describes the device as being ideal for games, reading and video.

"A brilliant 7" touchscreen and up to 10 hours of running time makes the Telecom Tablet ideal for games, reading and video,” says Telecom.

"Because it’s running Android 2.1, you’ll also get the best of Google and the web. Add in a camera, heaps of memory and you have a new definition of mobile entertainment. Snap, store or share your favourite photos and video with family and friends.”

Features include:

  • 7" touch screen: A large, clear screen that’s easy to use and comes with 840 x 480 pixel resolution.
  • Expandable memory: Store up to 32GB of music, pictures and video clips on a microSD card. (2GB microSD card included).
  • High speed data: 7.2Mbps enabled (actual speeds will vary), national average speed for the Tablet is estimated at 3.6 Mbps.
