FYI, this story is more than a year old

Speaking to Hip Hop Gamer at the PAX East expo in Boston, Massachusetts, Treyarch's community manager has admitted that DICE's recently revealed Frostbite 2.0 engine is "visually stunning".

DICE has recently demonstrated its new engine in a batch of Battlefield 3 footage and stills, with the game set to go head to head with the next entry in Treyarch and Infinity Ward's Call of Duty franchise at the year's end.

When quizzed on his thoughts of DICE's engine, Olin responded: "I thought it looked really beautiful. It was a visually stunning engine."

However, when asked if the Call of Duty franchise now needed to up its game, Olin responded:

"Irrespective of what anybody else does, we always need to be elevating that quality bar."

Speaking to the strengths of Treyarch's "versatile" engine, he added that "we can layer in and update those things if we want to".
