Uber partners with ASB Bank
Tue, 2nd Feb 2016
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Uber has announced it has entered into a partnership with ASB that will see all ASB Visa credit card holders receive a 15% discount on Uber fares.

“We're always looking at ways we can make getting from A to B more affordable, and we're kicking off 2016 with our best deal yet,” Uber says in a statement.

The discount will apply for rides taken between February 1 and July 31 2016, and users will get the discount credited back to their ASB credit cards after the ride.

According to Uber, the 15% discount means an Uber ride could be up to 50% cheaper than catching a taxi. In Auckland, Uber says its fares are already up to 40% cheaper than a taxi and30% cheaper than taxi rides in Wellington.

Uber says new customers who sign up with their ASB Visa credit card can also receive a $15 discount off their first three rides in New Zealand. To qualify, users must sign up before July 31st 2016 and take the rides within 90 days, using their personal ASB Visa credit card to pay.

“Both ASB and Uber use technology to make lives easier. We look forward to making your ride better together,” Uber says.
