A technical error which derailed ANZ bank, leaving Kiwis across the country struggling to make overnight payments and access online banking, has been restored as of 4pm today.
Writing on the bank's official Facebook page, ANZ revealed the problem has been solved.
"Hi everyone, ANZ Internet Banking, ANZ goMoney for Android and iBank are back up and running.
"Thanks for your patience while we worked to resolve this, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused."
The bank, the largest in New Zealand, announced the problem this morning in what was only believed to be a short delay in service.
"As a result, some payments for our customers may be delayed up to two hours," an ANZ statement read.
"We're working on this now and we'll update you shortly."
Yet the delay has gone on into the afternoon as the bank's IT team currently try to tackle the problem, with no timeframe given as yet on when the issue will be solved.
Speaking to Techday from the bottom of a beanstalk, Kiwi resident Jack told of his horror at realising his magic beans have yet to be deposited into his account.
"Well look," said a distraught Jack. "That Giant guy promised me I'd be paid today so sort it out ANZ, I'm a few cows down here."
Back to reality, and completely ignoring the previous two paragraphs, the fault is fixed so no more silly jokes until tomorrow.
