Windows of opportunity for ASB app
Wed, 26th Sep 2012
FYI, this story is more than a year old

The ASB mobile banking app is now available for download on Windows-based smartphones in a New Zealand first for banking.

ASB says the development of the app means it becomes the first to be available across Apple, Android and Windows smartphones, accounting for 80% of New Zealand’s smartphone market.

“Windows-based smartphones represent a growing segment of the market and we’ve listened and responded to our customers’ requests for a banking app specifically designed for this mobile operating system,” says Michael Ramsay, ASB’s Head of Digital Experience and Commerce.

“The ASB mobile app puts banking straight into our customers’ hands, giving them greater control of their money and offering faster and more convenient ways to pay, and we are pleased to now offer this great app with all its innovative features to an even wider range of our smartphone users.”

With over 177,000 downloads, the ASB Mobile app offers a range of mobile banking services including the ability to make payments to friends via their mobile number or email address without the need for a bank account number, including Facebook ‘friends’.

The ASB mobile banking app for Windows smartphones is available for download for free from the Windows Marketplace.
