World's first Windows 8 copy sold in Auckland
Fri, 26th Oct 2012
FYI, this story is more than a year old

The world's first copy of Windows 8 was sold in Auckland this morning, at Harvey Norman's Wairau Park store on the North Shore.

Kiwi Greg Daniel was the first person to get his hands of the software, after pre-ordering his copy of Windows 8 Pro from the store as soon as the exclusive pre-order offer opened on 23 October.

"This is the most innovative release from Microsoft since XP," Daniel says.

"I'm really looking forward to getting constant updates from my Facebook and other social networks with the live tiles, as well as from some of my favourite apps like weather.

"I'm excited about getting it loaded onto my laptop and taking it for a test drive."
