Writer quashes talk of February Apple event
Fri, 3rd Feb 2012
FYI, this story is more than a year old

A rumour that Apple would hold a ‘strange’ or ‘unusual’ event in February has been quashed by a noted de-bunker of erroneous Apple scuttlebutt.

Japanese tech site Macotakara initially claimed that the February event would see the unveiling of the iPad 3, citing sources both in the US and at Asian suppliers.

Blogger Danbo later corrected the prediction, saying Apple would be hosting a ‘strange’ event in February which would see no new hardware but possibly new software, as was the case with Apple’s education event last month.

This would be followed by a special event in March to release ‘new products’, Danbo told Apple Insider.

Although the prediction of a March event is in line with other indicators, the claim about a February event has been debunked by The Loop’s Jim Dalrymple, who says his sources have told him there is no truth to it whatsoever.

"Apple will not hold an event in February, unusual or otherwise,” Dalrymple writes.

"That’s it.”
