Rumours emanating from the US suggest that Microsoft will double the speed of the Xbox One’s GPU in order to take on Sony’s PS4.

According to Examiner an unnamed source for the computer giants confirmed the ‘GPU has been increased by 100 percent to match the performance of Sony’s offering’.

The two next gen consoles are due for release by the end of the year (rumoured to be November).

Both Microsoft and Sony remain coy on the idea that hardware specs alone will determine the future winner of the console market, insisting that the gaming line-up will be the primary factor of any success with hardware playing a secondary role.
